Tops 11/19

I can’t stop singing their jingle right now. “Tops never stops, saving you more.” Today was one of those days where the couponing rush just got to me. I went shopping with a $25 budget, $30 if there’s some good unanticipated sales. I had exactly $30.85 in my pocket. As the fella began ringing up my groceries I just watched that subtotal climb. It wasn’t looking good. When it crossed $70 I began to shake a little. Had I gotten too carried away? Then came the fun part. I handed him my Bonus Card and my coupons and once again the mental budget came out perfect. I have no idea how I did it, to be honest. Final price, $30.84. I left with but one penny to spare. Holy crap. Highlights include:

  • 2 Hillshire Farms little smokies: $3.99 – BOGO – (2)$.55/1 mc (dbl) = $.90 ea
  • Goya yellow rice: $1.99 – $.50 bc –$1/2 mc = $1 ea
  • Filippo Berio olive oil: $6.99 – $3 sc –$1/1 mc = $2.99
